With the KARC SwapShop it is easy to enter, edit and delete your ads. This help should have opened in a new window, so that you can switch back and forth between the SwapShop page and this help page.

Please keep your image size down in pixel size and filesize, it will help those on slow speed dialup.
A good size would be no larger than approx 800x600 pixels as a guideline. 
 
VERY IMPORTANT: When you enter an ad and it has been placed, you will be given an Ad ID number along with the password you entered.  Write this information down or print it, You need this Ad ID and password to edit and delete your ad.

When you first go to the SwapShop you will see the following screen:

	Disclaimer: Clicking on Disclaimer will open up a web page with a standard disclaimer statement about the use of the SwapShop. Help opens up this page. Click on For Sale, Wanted, or Free to see the ads in that category. When you place your mouse over these titles, they will show as underlined.  The number in parenthesis show the number of ads currently in that category.
	Search: Enter test and click on Search button and the ads that match your text will be shown.  For more info in Search, click here (further down page)
	Edit Your Ad: Enter your Ad ID and Password for the Ad and click on Go button.  For more info in Edit Your Ad, click here (further down page)
	Click on A-Announces to get the unmodified scripts that were used to start the creation of this SwapShop (Scripts were modified for this SwapShop) Click on To KARC Homepage to go to the KARC main web page.

Browsing the Ads

	Click on For Sale, Wanted, or Free to see the ads in that category. When you place your mouse over these titles, they will show as underlined.  The number in parenthesis show the number of ads currently in that category.
When you click on a category with ads, you will see the following page, displaying the ads. There are 10 ads per page, with navigation to move to other pages if there are more than 10 ads in the category.
Each ad will look like the image below:
The Ad will show the callsign, name, email address, phone, whether there is an image or not, and when the ad expires, and a description. The ad expiry is in day - month - year.  If the Image says View image, click on it and you will see an image for the ad, the image box can be resized to see more of the image by clicking on the side or corners. The examples below show both normal and resized views (not to scale).
To Change categories, click on a different category in the menu

Search for Ads

	Search: Enter keyword(s)  into the Search text box for ads that contain the keyword(s)
	In this case we have entered Kenwood, and then click on the Search button
The Search will return only ads that match your search.

Place an Ad

Once you have clicked on a category, at the top and at the bottom of the page is a line  "Place an ad in this category"
Click on one of these lines and the Place Ad screen will open
Enter your callsign, Name, email address, phone number. When you enter the password, all you will see are "stars". Click on the Browse button to find the image you want to use for the ad. Use the dropdown menu to select the ad expiry. Note: You can not change the ad expiry in the Edit menu.  Enter a description in the text box
When you are happy with your ad, click on the Place your ad button ONCE and ONLY ONCE and then wait for either an error message or success message.
If the ad was filled in properly, you will get a success message.  If not you will get an error message, click on your browser back arrow to return to the ad creation screen. Keep a note of your Ad ID and Password which allows you to edit and delete the ad.

Edit an Ad

	Enter your Ad ID and Password. Your password will appear as "stars"
	Once you have entered your Ad Id and Password, click on the Go button
The edit screen below will appear with your ad if you entered the correct Ad ID and password
Note that the image box is blank, you will need to re-enter your image. (Only one ad per image). Also you can not change your Ad expiry date.  If you wish to change the ad's expiry, you will need to delete the ad and start over.  (See Delete Ad below) (I will try and fix this..  but no guarantees) Change the information as required, and then click on "Modify your ad" button ONCE and ONLY ONCE and wait.  When the Ad is processed you will get a popup message box "Ad Modified This will appear on a white screen or over the Ad Administration screen. Click on OK and you will be returned to the Ad Administration screen.   Click on the Category you enter your Ad in to see the changes.
Error messages while editing: You may get an error message when editing, especially if you are not using a image or you forgot to re-enter your image: Warning: chmod(): No such file or directory in /var/www/html/classifieds/index.php on line 567 will appear on a white screen behind the Ad Modified message box, when you click OK you will see: If you wanted an image, then re-enter the image, as you are still in the edit mode (Ad Administration) and then click on "Modify your ad" button ONCE and ONLY ONCE as above. If you did not want an image, you can ignore this error message.

Delete an Ad

	Enter your Ad ID and Password. Your password will appear as "stars"
	Once you have entered your Ad Id and Password, click on the Go button
The edit screen below will appear with your ad if you entered the correct Ad ID and password To delete the ad, click on the Delete your ad button Once and wait
When the process is finished, you will see a message saying your ad has been deleted.
You may get an error message like the one below, you can ignore it if it also says your ad is deleted
