Basic Amateur Radio Certificate Course

There is no requirement for Morse Code (CW) for the Basic Certificate. With your Basic you are now able to talk to the world using IRLP and EchoLink, on VHF/UHF and use all modes on frequencies above 50 MHz.

A pass of over 80% will also give you HF privelages as well.

The course will cover all the subjects required to take the Basic Certificate exam at the end of the course, (No CW, however, we will give you info on CW programs etc).

The Kingston Amateur Radio Club normally runs a Basic course once a year. This year’s course is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 22 2020

Volunteer Examiners will administer the Certificate examination at the end of the course.

If you are interested in taking the course, please contact the club through email at
