LOGGING PROGRAMS

Updated 13 March 2007, 0200 UTC

Log books keep track of the contacts that Amateurs have made in order to see who they have talked to, check to see if they have sent or received a QSL card to/from a station, confirm a contact, especially for for DX stations or SWLs who want a QSL card from you.

Electronic logbooks are excellent tools during contests as they will let you know if the station is a "Dupe" ( duplicate call on same mode/band).

Logs can be kept on paper, or electronically.

The ARRL runs the Log Book of The World, where you can upload your contacts if they match logs from other Amateurs the contact(s) count towards ARRL Awards. See eHam Reviews.

eQSL.cc allows electronic exchange of electronic QSL cards and has an eAwards programs. Unfortunately the logging of contacts thru eQSL can not be uploaded to the ARRL LoTW, which uses their own software
