1973

This is a transcript of the Repeater Maintenance Log for the year 1973.
The only editorial changes made during the transcription is that
I've added VE to the callsigns which in most cases were logged
as 3xxx since at the time only VE3 calls were issued.
Comments in RED added during transcription for clarification

5A SLO BLO. F1 blown No spares - Went out and bought 5 of each type required. Also removed box of spare tubes & book from cabinet to increase cold air flow (P.A. Plate 210 M/A.)

5A SLO BLO F1 Blown again. Connected fan Replaced solid state rectifier with 5R4G, which also reduced P.A. Plate below limit (200) to 175 m/A.

Replaced 2E26 and set PA plate current to 150m/a. Sounds OK to VE3AHU/VE3FMF. Moved rig closer to cool air

Sept 30/30

VE3CPK COLIN adjusted Tx antenna for min SWR, and measured power at TX antenna which is 15 watts. Peaked up Tx to 38 Forward and 2 back at TX end of co-ax. Plate current 190 M/A.

L312 DISC replaced. Capacitors C367. 368. 369. 370. 375 376 replaced.
Radials on Rx ant replaced & adjuxsted by Colin VE3CPK.
829 in TX and P.A tank cct replaced and TX lined up & put on 146.940.

Replaced fan & OK. Repeater will not work unless TONE Switch put in disable posn

Repeater Tone switch in Reg posn Reset Tone & OK. Receiver desensitized by TX Tried cavity in xmit line - no change Re-tuned xmtr drive ccts & rcvr front end - lower drive to final - same P out - less rcvr desns. Vy little desens noticed on weak sigs Time 1 1/2 hrs

couldn't find any trouble with TX. Removed power supply to replace rectifier sockets with porcelain ones - Could be P.I.V. flash over

1900 hrs. Replaced 4R4G sockets for porcelain types. No trouble found. Rptr back on air. 660V at 30 watts RF at 150 M/A.

5A Fuse Blown again (Friday again)

Put in Automatic 5A reset unit in series with F1 which is now 6 1/4 A.
Replaced 829B Final as output was only 8 watts & bkue glow in one half of tube. New tube OK. 34 watts at 145 m/A. (POSN 7). (POSN 6 = 22 m/A)
