Squeal at times from TX found PA Plate off resonance again to 200 m/A. Repeak P.A plate tuning back to 150 m/A. Detuned TIA P and S very slightly also. (Wonder if 2E26 is OK?)

VE3NB

21 May 74

added new fan and put small fan below 829B final. Replaced 829B due to varying plate current, also 2E26. Output 35W at 150 m/A.

100o+ in Pent house - C.O.R will not release - put small fan at rear of cct boards & seem OK Replaced 7V7.V2 - was dead. TX OK

I.D & Beacon back on OK - repaired by Art VE3AHU. Large fan installed with 90 sec delay timer ( + 6 sec delay after TX goes off) 35 watts output

VE3NB

28 July

Rptr off. Due to operated Tone receiver. Intermittent power line QRN causing false operation, coming in from RX ant. Appears to be trouble in Tone decoder unit Removed for repair. Put on disable for time being. (Increased TX output to 40 watts at 165 m/A, may give better coverage North)

VE3NB

1 Aug

Vibration from big fan causing a microphonic noise in RX or TX. Moved fan and put cardboard under it. Had a vist from Roy VE3FVI and John VE3GOX re- Ingleside repeater

Erratic operation at times - found 829B 250m/A Plate current & 0 grid current. Replaced & OK. added a third small fan also

VE3NB

26 Aug

Erratic operation due to AC reset getting too hot +100o at least at times and cutting off TX. found 829B in trouble plate current goes up & grid drive goes down. Replaced 829B. Removed sheild from P.A. & put a small fan to blow on P.A. 35 watts at 150 m/A. Slight desensetization.

12 Oct 74

Right hand 1/2 of 829B glows very red during operation. Replaced 2 - 5MMF capacitors in base of 829B. These are neutralizing capacitors to clip on each side of 829 on glass envelope near plates of tube. This helped a bit but still some red. (150 m/A at 35 watts) Desensitaitization on receiver. Output power does not seem to help.

22 Oct

Repeaked TX to reduce desensiltation a bit

VE3NB

3 NOV 74

TX not right. P.A. plate current goes off scale when on for a long time. Some RX desensitization. Repeaked TX for best but will have to change final housing. Output about 25 watts

VE3NB

4 NOV 74
830PM

TX removed for mt'ce of final

VE3NB

5 NOV 74
730P

Changed defective screen resistor in 829B screen P.A. Tightened up[ loose nuts on 829 Tuned plate lines. OK @ 150 mA. 32 watts. Removed plate from rear of TX & very little, if any, desensitization

1720 hours - report of repeater squealing at times from VE3EW. OK at 1800 hrs closed doors of cabinet as very cold air now coming in air vent at rear of reptr. This may have caused trouble due to coils shrinkage

VE3NB

31 Dec 74

Total troubles 1974 = 27.
Lost time due to troubles = 216. hours
